It's going to be a memorable summer of soccer action, and people can't wait for the Copa America to get here. Entering the tournament, which will be held in the United States, there are several teams who are looking to make a splash. So, who will end up winning it all and taking home the trophy? As you might have been able to guess, Argentina is the favorite to win the 2024 Copa America and they're entering things with a ton of confidence.
Argentina won the Copa America in 2021, taking down Brazil in the final that year. Since then, Argentina has also won the World Cup, the first two major international titles for Lionel Messi. Messi will go down as one of the best players of all time, but there have been rumors that this could be his final tourney with Argentina. There's still a chance he could play in the World Cup in 2026, but that's totally up in the air.

Ahead of the Copa America start, Argentina just faced Ecuador for a friendly on Sunday night in Chicago. Messi was on the bench until the second half, with the crowd going nuts as soon as he started warming up. Argentina posted a tough 1-0 win over Ecuador, with Angel Di Maria scoring in the first half. Argentina is expected to have no issues in Group A in the Copa America and the good news is that Brazil and Uruguay are on the other side of the bracket.
According to the best-rated oddsmakers, which includes the Bovada sportsbook review, Argentina holds +170 betting odds per the best soccer betting sites. This goes to show how high people in Las Vegas are on Messi winning his second Copa America crown with the team. It's not going to be easy for them, but a lot of people think Messi and Co. will be able to get things done. However, we're going in a different direction here.

Uruguay is our pick to win the 2024 Copa America
Call it a gut feeling, but Uruguay is our pick to win the 2024 Copa America. This team is loaded with talent and things have been on the rise for them ever since Marcelo Bielsa took over as manager. Uruguay has been a force in World Cup qualifying, which included a surprising win over Argentina not long ago. In that game, Argentina was shocked by Uruguay and so were the home fans in the stands.
Uruguay is known for the youth movement on the roster, of course including Darwin Nunez. Nunez has been fantastic for Liverpool, as the transition to the English Premier League has gone quite well for him. If things go according to plan, Uruguay will win its group and so will Brazil. Should that happen, these two teams could be in line to meet in the semifinals. That's a semifinal matchup that a lot of people are hoping to see.
Marcelo Bielsa has taken charge of 13 games as Uruguay boss, they’ve won 7, drawn 4 & lost 2, a run that’s included 2-0 wins over Brazil and Argentina.
Last night, they cruised past Mexico 4-0. Have a look at the fourth goal, it’s got Bielsa all over it. pic.twitter.com/JKLUW7mL91

Brazil of course will have to be taken seriously, as Endrick and Vini Jr. are headlining the group. Brazil just beat Mexico in a friendly and they'll be taking on the USA on Wednesday night too. Vini Jr. is also playing with a ton of confidence, as he and Real Madrid recently took down Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League Final. Vini Jr. scored the game-sealing goal in that win as well, which was a moment he'll never forget.
Per the best sports betting sites, Uruguay has +350 soccer betting odds to win the Copa America. Brazil has been placed at +250 behind Argentina too. Uruguay may hold the No. 3 odds to win the trophy, but don't let that distract you from the fact that they're deep on offense and with their defensive standouts. Bielsa is one of the best coaches in South America and he'll remind people of that in the Copa America. Yup, Uruguay is who we think will be the champions.
Colombia is considered an underdog in the Copa America too
While some of the top dogs are getting a lot of attention, Colombia is considered an underdog in the Copa America too. James Rodriguez is proving that he can still play at a high level, while the youngsters are turning heads too. Over the weekend, Colombia faced the USA in a tune-up match, and the South American side posted a 5-1 win. It was a score that a lot of people could not believe.
However, it just goes to show how strong Colombia can be. Ecuador is also expected to push for the Group B top spot, with Moises Caicedo, Enner Valencia and Kendry Paez hoping to make noise. However, between the two sides, we have a feeling that Colombia will be able to go on a deeper run. Could Colombia shock everyone and win it all? It's hard to say, but it's not something that can be totally ruled out. They have the kind of star power to make something happen.
