Things are already quite exciting in Queens, New York this summer, as the 2024 U.S. Open is here and the best players in the world are looking to put on a show at Arthur Ashe Stadium. As you might have been able to guess, there are several stars who are looking like the top contenders to come out on top. Right now, Aryna Sabalenka is the favorite to win the women's U.S. Open. Will she win it all?
That's what a lot of people are thinking right now. Sabalenka is one of the best players on the planet and she's been playing quite well of late. Now, this is her opportunity to make a statement in Queens - nothing would be better for her than to take home the title. Soon enough, Sabalenka will look to go on a deep run. Iga Swiatek is our pick to win the women's U.S. Open
While we wouldn't be surprised if Sabalenka takes home the trophy, Iga Swiatek is our pick to win the women's U.S. Open. Swiatek is no stranger to success in majors, as she has won five in her career. Back in 2022, she won the U.S. Open and it was surely a tournament she'll never forget. Can she make it two U.S. Open titles in three years?
That's what she has in mind and we think that can happen for her. However, Sabalenka is going to do whatever is needed to make sure she prevents that from happening. As we get to the end of the tournament, we think there's a great chance that Sabalenka and Swiatek could meet in the final. It would be a matchup that fans would no question love to see.

Per the oddsmakers, Swiatek holds +350 odds to win the U.S. Open according to the top tennis betting sites. This shows that while analysts think Sabalenka will win it all, they also think that Swiatek is going to be in the conversation too. This is going to be quite close and the gap could shrink as the tourney goes on. With that said, we're sticking with Swiatek as our selection.
There are other contenders for the women's U.S. Open title
Yes, a lot of attention is on Swiatek and Sabalenka, but there are other contenders for the women's U.S. Open title. The list includes Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva. Of all those names, Gauff has to be the one who might have the best chance of proving a point in Queens. Gauff is quite talented and you know she'll be ready to make a splash.
Per the oddsmakers, Gauff holds +900 odds. This isn't too close to Sabalenka and Swiatek, but she's No. 3 on the list. This just goes to show that while not many think she'll be able to win it all, they do think they can go on a deep run. Can you imagine if Gauff is able to make it to the semifinals and then be matched up against either Sabalenka or Swiatek?
She of course would be a major underdog for that one, but you never know what might end up happening in the later stages of the tournament. Whenever the U.S. Open arrives, there are always some upsets that end up arriving.
Gauff is a true playmaker and she can never be ruled out whenever she takes the court. Having said that, we're certainly going to stick with Swiatek as our pick, but don't be stunned if Gauff impresses over the next week and puts some pressure on the players ahead of her. She sure has the potential to do so. Only time will tell if she does or not.
