It’s barely been a month since the previous Super Bowl but that’s not stopping us from looking ahead to the next one — and who could cash a futures wager in the process. Keep reading to get our two favorite picks to be the next Super Bowl champions.
The Super Bowl betting odds have shuffled plenty in the past few weeks thanks to the free-agency period. But now that we know who’s playing where (among the big names at least), we expect lines to stay more stable until the regular season starts. With that in mind, let’s take a gander at the odds currently available at top-used betting sites for NFL. These teams are the biggest favorites to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy next:

Best Bets To Win 2024 NFL Super Bowl
You might’ve noticed the headline above is plural. Indeed, we’re making bets, not a single bet. Look, that’s how you should approach championship futures in general, little less in a sport like the NFL where injuries are so common. For our two bets, we’ll be choosing between one of the proverbial favorites and another mid-value pick for those that like taking more chances. Here are the two teams most worthy of Super Bowl futures money right now:
Favorite Team
We’re counting every team that has a +850 or shorter line — the 49ers, Bengals, Chiefs, and Eagles — as a “favorite.” You could make a strong case for any of the five here. But our job is to pick the MOST deserving. To us, the pick to make is Cincinnati.
Hell, if not for a bad unnecessary roughness penalty, the Bengals might’ve become the current champions — not the Chiefs. Of course, Cincinnati lost to Kansas City 23-20 in the AFC title game but regardless, this team has the makings of a Super Bowl champion.
The team’s big bugaboo the past two seasons (which includes a Super Bowl defeat in 2021) has been protecting its franchise quarterback Joe Burrow. In 2021, Burrow was sacked a whopping 19 times in four playoff games. In the 2022 AFC Championship game, Burrow went down five times too.
But in an “all in” move, Cincy signed four-time Pro Bowler Orlando Brown Jr. to be the team’s new left tackle. Even better, the Bengals' gain is the Chiefs’ loss as Brown has been protecting Mahomes blindside the past two years. The Bengals organization is notoriously stingy so them giving Brown a $32 million bonus is a sign they want to win now before they need to pay Burrow a potentially new record-setting contract.
A Bengals’ bet makes a lot of sense here. If the offensive line can stop being its weak link, Cincy is as well-balanced as they come. They’ve also topped Kansas City three of the past four times so we don’t sense there’s any fear for the defending champions.
Sleeper Pick
Outside of the top-five favorite, we love — and we mean love — the Dolphins value at +2500. Miami, like Cincy, has shown their all-in while their quarterback is on his rookie contract. The Dolphins made a offseason splash by trading for shutdown cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Yet, that might be the second biggest move the organization did to fortify its defense.
The number one nice? Hiring Vic Fangio as the team’s defensive coordinator. Fangio is perhaps the best defensive mind in the game, not just now but over the last two decades. In 22 seasons as either a head coach or defensive coordinator, Fangio-coached teams have ranked top-10 on 10 occasions — one team ranked first overall, and another four teams were second-best. The Dolphins, who ranked 24th in points allowed in 2022, get what they desperately needed with Fangio.
Not only that, but Miami can flat-out score still. This offense was near unstoppable when Tua Tagovailoa was healthy. Though, that’s perhaps the biggest variable to this bet. Tua has been bothered by injuries for four years running now dating to his time in college. The Dolphins' title chances are shot without Tua under center.
But hey, that’s why they’re +2500. Those odds are a steal if the stars can align in Miami — Fangio fixes the defense and Tua stays under center. They’re a worthy alternate bet to make here.
