If there's one thing we've learned thus far this racing season, it's that there have been some dramatic finishes to NASCAR races. While so many race fans are paying close attention to F1 these days, don't forget for a second about how electric things have been in the USA this year and season. Having said all of that, things are pretty darn close in terms of who will capture the ultimate glory at the end of the year. As things stand, Kyle Larson is the favorite to win the NASCAR Cup Series Championship.
Will he be able to get the job done? That's what everyone is wondering, but there's still plenty of time for more points to be added up. Right now, Larson is in first place in the Cup Series standings with his 749 points. He's been impressive behind the wheel and there are multiple reasons why he's not only in first place, but also why a lot of people think he'll win the title. Larson knows it won't be easy, but he's also enjoyed some memorable performances this year too.

"Today was definitely meant to be for us with the way the strategy was working out and all that fell into place," Larson said after he was able to win the Brickyard 400 in impressive fashion recently. "I just can't believe it. It's just surreal to win here."
According to the best sports betting sites, which includes the reliable Bovada sportsbook review, Larson holds +250 NASCAR betting odds to win the title. He's not the only one who has a great chance to do so, but a lot of analysts think he'll indeed be the one to celebrate in style once the season comes to an end. While we wouldn't be surprised if he makes that happen, we're going in a different direction with our selection.

Chase Elliott is our pick to win the NASCAR Cup Series Championship
Believe it or not, Chase Elliott is our pick to win the NASCAR Cup Series Championship. Elliott continues to be one of the best drivers in the NASCAR circuit, and he's right behind Larson in the standings. Entering the next big race of the series, Elliott holds 739 points, which is 10 behind Larson. These two have a tremendous amount of respect for one another too, which makes the race even more exciting.
With that said, they're also ultimate competitors and they're not going to back down once we really get down to the wire at the end of the season. Just like Larson, Elliott has a tremendous amount of experience and he knows what it takes to turn plenty of heads. While Elliott holds the No. 2 betting odds per the top sportsbooks, including the BetOnline sportsbook review, that doesn't mean he's worried at all.

“I think it’s pretty clear at Hendrick how we expect teams and drivers to race against one another and how they’ve got to go and compete not only against their competitors but against one another," Jeff Gordon said of the Larson-Elliott rivalry. "They have a pretty good understanding about that. We want them to go race and race hard, but we want them to come out the other end in one piece and may the best team, the best driver get that regular season championship.”
Elliott is going to be a name to keep an eye on for the rest of the season. Yes, Larson currently has more points and he has slightly better odds, but that doesn't mean that Elliott isn't a threat. We could see this battle going all the way to the last race of the year, which would only make things even more interesting. It will be exciting to see how things go down, but we're indeed going to have to go with Elliott as our pick here.
Several other drivers will be in contention to win the title
As excited as people are for Larson and Elliott to battle it out, it's important to remember that several other drivers will be in contention to win the title. These drivers include Tyler Reddick and Denny Hamlin. The two are ranked third and fourth in the standings, respectively.
Of those two, the one we're going to be following a bit closer with things coming down to the wire is Reddick. He's in third place with his 734 points, which is just five behind Elliott and 15 behind Larson. While the odds are stacked against Reddick to finish at No. 1 on the list, you never know what might end up happening late in the process. We're excited to see how things go down here, as it will be fun to see unravel.
