Usually during this time of the year, sports fans are focused on football action in Texas. Well, things are changing in a big way this weekend, as a massive Formula1 race is set to take center state. That's right, racing supporters can't wait for Sunday to arrive, as the US Grand Prix is set to take place over in Del Valle. Leading up to things too, the one and only Lando Norris is the favorite to win the 2024 US Grand Prix. Will he be able to get the job done?
Obviously, there's a lot of buzz surrounding Norris' name, as he is one of the best drivers in the business. He's certainly not going to be the only one in contention, as a lot of people are ready to see what some of the other top talents, including Max Verstappen, can get done over in Texas. While there's a loaded field for this upcoming race, Norris is also feeling good about things. He understands there's pressure surrounding his name too.

"When you look at where we were here last year, relative to the car that we had and compared to where we were in Singapore, I think this was a better weekend for us," Norris said ahead of the Grand Prix. "We led the first half of the race - I know some things were mixed up because of different scenarios, but it was a good weekend. There are always questions for us to answer, but with how we performed here last year and how we have performed over the last three, four, five races, I think we are confident."

Multiple other racers are in contention to win the US Grand Prix
As you might have been able to guess, multiple other racers are in contention to win the US Grand Prix this year. Yes, Norris is the overwhelming favorite, but other studs are going to be looking to make a ton of noise too. The long list includes Verstappen, Oscar Piastri, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, George Russell and many others. From that list, there's no question that Verstappen is the one who a lot of people think will give Norris the most run for his money.
Verstappen is a legend in the F1 community and he certainly has what it takes to win the Grand Prix this time around. There's a tremendous amount of respect between Norris and Verstappen too, which only makes this upcoming race even better. Previously, we would have imagined Lewis Hamilton would be in the running here, but his +2000 betting odds don't give us too much belief in him. That's not the case for Norris and Verstappen, though, as they're ready to put on a show.

"I am confident that if we keep our heads down and keep pushing then we can do it, we can close the gap," Norris said in a recent interview. "But it is not easy and I need more than just me first and Max (Verstappen) second - but I cannot change that, so I just need to focus on myself and leave the rest to everyone else."
We're going to stick with our guns here in going with Norris as our pick to win, but Verstappen is certainly going to be someone to keep a close eye on. From our chair, it wouldn't be a surprise at all if he were to win this one, but again, we like what Norris has been able to get done of late. If anyone were to unseat him at the top though, we'd like to think that Verstappen would be the one to post a bit of an upset in Texas.

Leading up to the action as well, fans are wondering which riders will end up posting a podium finish at the US Grand Prix? With the way things have been set, it truly feels like a lock that both Norris and Verstappen will finish in the Top 3, which will result in them being featured on the podium. If we had to guess, Norris will finish in first and Verstappen will take home second.
So, what about that third and final spot on the podium? Piastri has been given -195 odds to take a podium spot, while Leclerc, Sainz and Hamilton also have a great opportunity to close things up with a Top 3 finish as well.
