After a bit of a wait, it's time for Formula 1 racing fans everywhere to get ready for one of the best events of the year. We're of course talking about the Australian Grand Prix, which always provides a ton of intrigue. Who will end up posting a win this season? Leading up to things, Lando Norris is a strong favorite to win the 2025 Australian Grand Prix. Will he come out on top?
That's what a lot of people indeed are expecting, as Norris has cemented himself as one of the best drivers on the planet. He's been remarkable whenever he's behind the wheel and now he's ready to make a splash once again. Last year, Carlos Sainz Jr. was the victory, but there's strong belief that Norris will have what it takes to come out on top later this week.
Australian GP odds | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
---|---|---|---|
Norris to win | +145 | +145 | +145 |
Leclerc to win | +400 | +400 | +400 |
Verstappen to win | +700 | +700 | +700 |
Piastri to win | +1000 | +1000 | +1000 |
"I feel like we are now (the favorites)," Norris said. "I know there's a lot of expectation and it's what everyone says. I'm quite surprised so many people are so short-sighted, especially people you wouldn't expect to be, making so many conclusions before you even start the season.Everyone just wants to play that game of looking like the underdog and playing it down."
According to the best sports betting sites, Norris has been given +145 Formula 1 betting odds to win the Australian Grand Prix. This speaks volumes to how strongly the Vegas oddsmakers think of him. Soon enough, he will look to put on a show for everyone to enjoy in this one. It will be interesting to see how things shake out for him, but we're going with him as our pick.

Charles Leclerc is also ready to make a splash at the Australian Grand Prix
It goes without saying, but Charles Leclerc is also ready to make a splash at the Australian Grand Prix as well. Similarly to Norris, Leclerc is not only one of the best drivers out there, but he's also a threat to win any race he participates in. This is surely something that Norris and the rest of the field is going to be keeping in mind leading up to the weekend.
Leclerc is also no stranger to success, as he won three F1 races last season. The last time he was a winner was at the 2024 United States Grand Prix. It was a memorable performance for Leclerc and one that gave him plenty of confidence. Now, he's going to want to make another statement, this time in Australia. He's also feeling pretty confident about his chances.

As for Leclerc, he holds +400 odds to win the Australian Grand Prix this Sunday. Those are also pretty strong odds per the best Formula 1 betting sites. We're going to stick to our guns in going with Norris as our pick, but don't be surprised if Leclerc makes things intriguing down the stretch. He could make things pretty darn close.
There are several other drivers to keep an eye on at the Australian Grand Prix
While a ton of focus is going to Leclerc and Norris, keep in mind that there are several other drivers to keep an eye on at the Australian Grand Prix this weekend. You already know we're going to bring up Max Verstappen, as he's a legend of the sport.
Verstappen would love nothing more than to make a splash in Melbourne, especially after he was forced to leave the race early last year after only five laps. According to reports, a brake issue led to his early exit from the race, which no question was quite frustrating for him. If anything, it should motivate him to put together a strong showing this time around. It's surely in the back of his mind.
Elsewhere, racing fans are going to be paying attention to Oscar Piastri, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and others. All in all, it's shaping up to be a fun race in Melbourne this weekend and countless people across the planet are going to be following things closely. Soon enough, we'll find out who comes out on top, but we think it'd be a surprise if Norris isn't the winner when things are all said and done.
