This is easily one of the more underrated soccer games of the year, but it's one that plenty of fans in the United States love to watch. We're of course talking about the MLS All-Star Game, which steals the show every summer. Once again, we're going to see the best players from the MLS take on the studs from the Liga MX in Mexico. So, who will come out on top? Ahead of the action, the MLS is favored to beat the Liga MX in the 2024 MLS All-Star Game. We can't wait to see how this one will go down.
There are some absolute studs getting ready to play for the MLS side, with the talented players including Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets from Inter Miami. Those two have been looking great for Inter Miami this season playing alongside the one and only Lionel Messi. Unfortunately for everyone who was hoping to see Messi take the field for this one, that's not going to be the case, which is a bit of a bummer.
MLS ASG odds | |||
---|---|---|---|
MLS to win | -110 | -110 | -110 |
Liga MX to win | +125 | +125 | +125 |
Over 2.5 goals | -110 | -110 | -110 |
Under 2.5 goals | -110 | -110 | -110 |
Messi has been away from Inter Miami due to playing in the Copa America. Messi helped Argentina win the final over Colombia, but he suffered an ankle injury that's going to keep him off the pitch for a little while. This includes the MLS All-Star Game. The hope is that Messi can get himself healthy and then help Inter Miami go on a deep run in the postseason - they certainly have the tools to make that happen.
According to the best sports betting sites, which includes the reliable Bovada sportsbook review, the MLS All-Stars hold -110 soccer betting odds to post a victory. Meanwhile, the top MLS betting sites have given the Liga MX All-Stars +125 betting odds for this one. On paper, you'd think that the MLS would be able to post a victory, but we're actually going in a different direction with our selection.

The Liga MX side is our pick to win the 2024 MLS All-Star Game
Believe it or not, the Liga MX side is our pick to win the 2024 MLS All-Star Game. While the MLS team has a boatload of talent, the exact same can be said about the Liga MX team. The team's roster includes Jonathan Dos Santos, Andrés Guardado, Cesar Huerta and more. Oh, let's not forget about striker Salomón Rondon, as he's coming off a brilliant showing in the Copa America over the last few weeks.

Rondon is a Venezuelan playmaker who also suits up for Pachuca in Mexico. At the Copa America, Rondon was easily one of the best forwards on the pitch, scoring some historic goals for his country. Thanks to the brilliant play from Rondon, Venezuela came out on top of their group with Mexico, Ecuador and Jamaica. Venezuela booked a trip to the quarterfinals, but they suffered a loss to Canada on penalty kicks. Still, it doesn't take away from what Rondon got done in the U.S. for the tourney.
With the All-Star Game coming later this month, Rondon, Dos Santos, Guardado and the rest of the Liga MX team is going to hope to spoil the party for the MLS All-Stars. It's not going to be easy and something tells us this is going to be a pretty close contest. In the end, though, we have a feeling that the Liga MX team will get the win. They're our pick and it will be interesting to see if that happens or not.
Inter Miami is the MLS Cup favorite at the MLS All-Star break
As you might have been able to guess, Inter Miami is the MLS Cup favorite at the MLS All-Star break. What owner David Beckham has been able to get done with this organization has been unreal, as they're indeed hoping to capture glory later this year. A lot of that will depend on the health of Messi, though. The photos of his swollen ankle continue to go viral on social media, and not for good reason.
The hope is that Messi can rest up and then return to action sooner rather than later. The more time he misses, though, the more worry there will be if this will be a long-term injury. Luckily, we don't think that will be the case and Messi should be good to go by the time the postseason arrives. Inter Miami holds +170 soccer betting odds to win the title this year, which speaks highly of their ability to push for the trophy. This is why Beckham brought Messi, Alba and Busquets to town. Only time will tell if they'll win it all or not.
