Best Bellator 298 Bets: Logan Storley vs. Brennan Ward Picks

Bellator 298 Betting

For the first time in almost two months, Bellator has a numbered card with 298 coming your way. It’s a jam-packed card, literally with 17 bouts slated, but we’ve selected our most confident bets to win for Bellator 298. We share those three freebies in this article so stick around if you want to “be in the green.”

  • What: Bellator 298
  • When: August 11
  • Where: Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Main event: Logan Storley vs. Brennan Ward Betting Pick

Don’t think the South Dakota location is randomly picked. No, no, no it lines up with the home state of longtime welterweight contender, Storley. This is indeed his homecoming fight and to no one’s surprise, Storley is a comfortable betting favorite over Ward. The main event odds are as follows on the moneyline:

FighterMyBookieBetUSBovada
Logan Storley-300-300-300
Brennan Ward+225+225+225

Storley, though, is coming fresh off one of the worst performances of his mostly brilliant career. He was flat-out dominated by Yaroslav Amosov in a unanimous decision that was really lopsided. Amosov owns all two of Storley’s career losses.

Ward doesn’t have as pristine of a record. The 35-year-old is a bit of a journeyman in the fight game with a 17-6 record. He’s been with Bellator since 2012 and previously fought for the middleweight title (he lost). Still, there are not a lot of signature wins on Ward’s resume up to this point.

When analyzing the matchup, you see contrasting styles. Ward, for sure, is the stand-up fighter. He’ll want to keep the fight on the feet, not only to maximize his striking, but to avoid Storley’s top-level wrestling ability. Storley, to his credit, has improved his striking over the years. That should help him fend off Ward, even when they’re not in the ground. This should be a convincing victory for Storley so bet accordingly.

Valentin Moldavsky vs. Steve Mowry Betting Pick

Heavyweights will semi-main event Bellator 298. Once again, the moneyline odds aren’t particularly close as Moldavsky is -245 to win. For this reason, we’re focusing our betting attention on the Moldavsky-Mowry over/under. It’s set at 2.5 rounds across the top-used betting sites for sports:

OutcomeMyBookieBetUSBovada
Over 2.5 rounds-110-110-110
Under 2.5 rounds-110-110-110

This fight has been brewing for a year now. At Bellator 284 (also in South Dakota) in August 2022, Moldavsky accidentally eye-poked Mowry seconds into the first round. Mowry couldn’t continue, which meant the fight ended in a no-contest. We finally get our rematch here.

This is a bit of a “prove it” fight for Mowry. We still don’t really know how he stacks up in Bellator’s heavyweight division. He’s only fought one other time, soundly defeating Ali Isaev by unanimous decision in February. That helps explain why he’s such an underdog.

But here’s what we will say about Mowry: he has stoppage potential. That Isaev win was the first by decision in his career. The others have come by submission (6) and KO/TKO (4). If he’s going to pull off the upset, it’ll likely come with an under 2.5 rounds. We wouldn’t put that outcome past him, but given his newness in the promotion, we’re not quite ready to advocate for that moneyline.

Moldavsky is the more accomplished fighter, but we do have to call out two of his three career losses have done in the past 18 months. He’s only 31 years old, but it’s fair to wonder whether he is in decline mode. Moldavsky is a mauler of a wrestler but hasn’t looked the same since losing to Ryan Bader at Bellator 273.

All things considered, we’re inclined to take the under here. Either Moldavsky is washed up and will be stopped early or Moldavsky completely manhandles and submits Mowry. Both those outcomes lend themselves to betting the under.

Dalton Rosta vs. Aaron Jeffery Betting Pick

This might be the fight of the night and it’s certainly the one we’re most looking for. Rosta is an ascending star in the middleweight division, but Jeffery has proven his mettle here. As it stands, Rosta is the strong moneyline favorite over Jeffery:

FighterMyBookieBetUSBovada
Dalton Rosta-225-225-225
Aaron Jeffery+185+185+185

We’ll be quite honest and say we’re buying into the Rosta hype. The 27-year-old is a perfect 8-0 — all of which coming in Bellator. Half of his wins have been by KO, the other half by decision. His striking skills are definitely something to look out for and we predict a Rosta stoppage win here. Betting that prop might be worthwhile if you want to add extra risk to the table.
