There have been some excellent Formula 1 races this season and there's still more to look forward to before we flip the calendar and look forward to 2025. That's right, this weekend a lot of F1 attention is going to be highlighted on a super fun race. We're of course talking about the Qatar Grand Prix, which should be thrilling. So, who will win? Well, Lando Norris is our pick to win the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix.
Will he be able to get the job done? It has been a racing season to remember for Norris, as he has proven that he is no question one of the best drivers on the planet. These days, a lot of attention has been going to Max Verstappen and rightfully so, but Norris has been fun to watch. This weekend in Qatar, he's going to hope to make a statement too.
Qatar Grand Prix odds | |||
---|---|---|---|
Norris to win | +200 | +200 | +200 |
Verstappen to win | +400 | +400 | +400 |
Hamilton to win | +500 | +500 | +500 |
Piastri to win | +700 | +700 | +700 |
"When he's had the quickest car, he dominated races," Norris said on Verstappen's title-winning 2024. "When he's not in the quickest car, he's still been just behind us and almost winning the races anyway. So he's just not had a bad side to him. He's not had any bad races the whole year. You know, his worst was like a fifth or something. He just drove as Max has always driven, which is perfectly. Can't fault him anywhere."
According to the best sports betting sites, Norris holds +200 Formula 1 betting odds. Per the top betting sites, others are close behind him in terms of being in contention too. We have a feeling this is going to be very close and it could come down to the wire. Having said that, we're going with Norris as our pick. It will be interesting to see if he pulls things out or not.

Max Verstappen is hoping to repeat as the Qatar Grand Prix champion
While we're indeed going with Norris as our pick, it's important to keep in mind that Max Verstappen is hoping to repeat as the Qatar Grand Prix champion. At this time last year, Verstappen made his way to Qatar holding +400 betting odds to win the race. In convincing fashion, he was able to win and he celebrated in style.
We don't have to tell you that Verstappen is one of the best drivers in the world. Whenever he's behind the wheel, he's a serious threat to capture the title. Because of this, Norris and the rest of the field will be pushing to try and prevent him from repeating. Verstappen has been on top of his game of late and he wants to make a splash this weekend as well.

"The problem for me is mainly the time difference between Vegas and Qatar," Verstappen said of all the travel he and his team have had to go through in recent weeks. "If we do triple-headers, we have to make sure that they are a bit closer together. That would make more sense to me."
Per the oddsmakers, Verstappen is a bit of an underdog in terms of betting odds, as he has been placed at +400. Norris' +200 odds are pretty head-turning, as it hints that the oddsmakers in Las Vegas are convinced he'll pull through. Verstappen won't back down from a challenge, though. Again, we're sticking with Norris as our pick, but look for Verstappen to make a ton of noise here.
There are other contenders to monitor at the Qatar Grand Prix
While there's a ton of focus on Norris and Verstappen, don't forget that there are other contenders to monitor at the Qatar Grand Prix as well. The long list includes Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Oscar Piastri, Sergio Perez, Charles Leclerc, Esteban Ocon and many others.
This indeed is a pretty loaded field, as it is every year. From the other contenders that we mentioned above, Hamilton is surely the one that we're going to keep a close eye on. Hamilton is a legend in the F1 world and he'd love nothing more than to remind people of how great he is.
Per the oddsmakers, Hamilton holds +500 odds to win the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix. This puts him not too far behind both Norris and Verstappen. Would it be a total shock if Hamilton managed to take down the rest of the competitors? Not at all. We still are going to rock with Norris to win, but Hamilton could end up making a splash here too.
Keep an eye on him from start to finish for Saturday's race. Looking to get in on the betting action? Check the BetOnline promo codes and promotions for the latest offers, as the Qatar Grand Prix will be fun to place wagers on, no doubt.
