Arguably the biggest and best golf tournament of the year is here. That's right, we're talking about The Masters, an event that golf fans can't wait to arrive every spring. Already, the course at Augusta is filled with people who can't wait for things to get started. Entering the tournament, Scottie Scheffler is a small favorite to win The Masters in 2025. Will he be able to get the job done?
Time and time again, Scheffler continues to remind people of why he's one of the best golfers on the planet. He's no stranger to winning big-time tournaments, including majors. This week in Georgia, he's fired up to put up another show. Yes, Scheffler knows there's a loaded field hoping to bring him down, but he's also confident in his game.
The Masters odds | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
---|---|---|---|
Scheffler to win | +400 | +400 | +400 |
McIlroy to win | +600 | +600 | +600 |
Rahm to win | +900 | +900 | +900 |
Morikawa to win | +1200 | +1200 | +1200 |
"I really don't focus a lot on that stuff," says Scheffler. "I focus a lot on the preparation and getting ready to play in tournaments, and then I try to, while I'm playing, have a good attitude and approach the shots the right way. And that's what I define success as. When I think about getting ready for this week, when I step on the first tee on Thursday, I'm going to remind myself that I've done what I needed to do to play well."
According to the best sports betting sites, Scheffler indeed is a small favorite with +400 golf betting odds. It's not a surprise at all that he has been given the best odds via the golf betting sites. Soon enough, we'll find out if Scheffler has what it takes to take home the green jacket. It of course won't be easy, but we think he has what it takes. We're going with him as our pick.

Rory McIlroy is also ready to make a splash at The Masters this week
Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy is also ready to make a splash at The Masters this week. McIlroy has won every major tournament, but he's yet to take home the green jacket. That's right, McIlroy has never won The Masters, as that particular title has eluded him. He's obviously hoping to change that. He has come close in the past to pulling off a win.
However, McIlroy is still waiting to fully prevail. As things stand, McIlroy is being viewed as the main threat for Scheffler. It would be incredible if these two battled till the end. Looking to get in on the betting action too? Now would be a great time to check the BetOnline promo codes and promotions, as they have great deals for fans to take advantage of. Maybe a bet or two on McIlroy?

"It's just narratives. It's noise," McIlroy said during a presser. "It's just trying to block out that noise as much as possible. I need to treat this tournament like all the other tournaments that I play throughout the year. Look, I understand the narrative and the noise, and there's a lot of anticipation and buildup coming into this tournament each and every year, but I just have to keep my head down and focus on my job."
Looking at the betting odds, McIlory is set at +600, which isn't too far behind Scheffler. McIlory is a legend of the game, but you already know that not winning The Masters is something that has to stand out a bit in his head. He'll look to make history on Sunday. Unfortunately for him, we're doubling down with our pick of Scheffler to pull things off. He's simply too good right now, which has been fun to see.
There are other contenders to keep in mind for The Masters
While a ton of focus is on McIlroy and Scheffler right now, there are other contenders to keep in mind for The Masters. The long list of course includes Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Aberg and others. Rahm is also looking to make a splash, while Morikawa and Aberg are threats to come out on top whenever they hit the links as well.
The Masters is easily one of the most prestigious tournaments of the year and there's always some extra pressure on golfers to deliver over the four rounds of action. Soon enough, all eyes will be on the best players to impress. Picking just one winner out of the field is tough, but Scheffler won things last year and he's hoping to repeat. He's our lock, but don't forget to keep an eye on the other standouts too.
