No one should be surprised by the difference between betting favorite Djokovic and the next-best player. Djokovic is on the cusp of becoming the best player this event has ever seen. He’s won three consecutive years, plus another four times before that streak. One more Djokovic championship here would equal Roger Federer’s record eight Wimbledon titles. Djokovic’s pursuit of history continues even after winning his all-time record 23 Grand Slam at the French Open.
Can anyone stop Djokovic? Honestly, the only one that has a chance is Alcaraz — albeit a small one. Grass isn’t Alcaraz's natural specialty, but we have seen the Spaniard show a keen sense of adaptability on any surface. However, Alcaraz has a significantly tougher draw that could include Alexander Zverev, Alex de Minaur (who excels on grass), and Frances Tiafoe, among others. Everybody wants a Djokovic vs. Alcaraz final, but it’s far from guaranteed for Alcaraz.
Honestly, the person that has the best chance at beating Djokovic is himself. When he’s on, he’s without question, the best player in the world — and arguably of all time. But there’s the possibility his rhythm can be disrupted or worse, an injury slows him down. Outside of that, Djokovic is playing like a man possessed right now. First, he avenged the Australian Open ban with a win, then French Open, and no end appears in sight for this run.
Bet on Djokovic here. Hell, do it as soon as you’re done reading this. As the bracket unfolds, his betting line will only lose more and more value. Getting him at -200 isn’t great, but it’s sure better than -400 or so down the stretch. So the sooner you get on this, the more betting value you’ll preserve.
Women’s Wimbledon Betting Pick
As compared to the men’s tourney, the women’s Wimbledon betting field is way more wide open. However, three names do separate themselves from the bunch. Here are the current odds to win outright:

We’re going to immediately rule out number-one-ranked Swiatek. The elephant in the room with her is performing on grass. She’s admitted it’s not her best, and there’s ample evidence to suggest that. At Wimbledon, she’s never advanced out of the fourth round. While Swiatek had a solid showing on the grass last week at the Bad Homburg Open (semi-finals appearance before pulling out due to food poisoning), it didn’t wow us either. We could see Swiatek making a deeper Wimbledon run but it won’t end with a championship.
That leaves us with Sabalenka or Rybakina. Sabalenka will be playing with vengeance akin to Djokovic in Australia. She was banned from this event a year ago due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Sabalenka has played well as of late, including a semi-finals run at the French Open. A championship victory (or making the finals alone) would vault her to No. 1, ending Swiatek’s over-year-long reign atop.
Then there’s Rybakina, who is the defending champion. A year ago, Rybakina outlasted Ons Jabeur in an unlikely final of sorts. The issue with Rybakina is she might not be close to 100 percent. A viral illness forced Rybakina to withdraw in the middle of the French Open and has hardly played since then. There’s just not a whole lot of momentum for Rybakina going into this.
Our money is going squarely on Sabalenka. Unlike Swiatek and Rybakina, Sabalenka is coming in high to London. Wimbledon has produced a first-time women’s champion every year from 2017 and on, and we suspect that trend continues here. It’s Sabalenka time so go with her.
