UFC 245 Preview: Betting Odds & Picks To Make
The upcoming UFC 245 is headlined by three championship fights featuring Kamaru Usman, Max Holloway, and Amanda Nunes. We preview those title fights and offer our free betting picks ahead of the December 14 event.
With only days remaining until UFC 245, here are the current fight favorites per online sportsbooks:
- Kamaru Usman (-175)
- Max Holloway (-175)
- Amanda Nunes (-310)

Welterweight: Kamaru Usman (-175) vs. Colby Covington (+145)
What a main event this will be featuring two scorching-hot fighters.
Usman will make his first-ever title defense since winning the belt in dominating fashion over Tyron Woodley in March.
He's currently on a 14-win fight streak, last tasting defeat in 2013 (his only career loss). Convington has won seven in a row in his own right, including back-to-back victories over Rafael dos Anjos and Robbie Lawler.
Both fighters are wrestling specialists that like wearing their opponents out. We'd be stunned if this one doesn't go the five-round distance — so if there's a prop bet for the exact method of finish, definitely bet decision.
In such an evenly-matched fight, you got to cling to whatever advantage you can find. For us, it's size and Usman has Covington beat here. His longer frame will help him get the one or two extra takedowns that will be difference-makers on the judge's scorecard.
Betting Pick: Usman (-175)
Featherweight: Max Holloway (-175) vs. Alexander Volkanovski (+145)
Like the main event, both these fighters are on dominant runs. The reigning champion Holloway has won 14 straight bouts at featherweight — a UFC all-time record. Meanwhile, Volkanovski has 17 straight victories to his name.
The five-round limit might be to Holloway's advantage here. This is Volkanovski's first-ever title challenge and those extra two rounds could test his stamina.
Holloway has never been knocked out despite facing one great striker after another. We don't see Volkanovski being an outlier there. If it does go the full five rounds, Holloway's ring IQ will earn him the victory.
Betting pick: Max Holloway (-175)
Women's Bantamweight: Amanda Nunes (-310) vs. Germaine de Randamie (+240)
Unlike the other two fights, these odds are a little more lopsided, as it should be.
Look De Randamie is a fine fighter. She's been victorious each of her last five times in the octagon.
However, she's facing Amanda Nunes, only the greatest women's fighter in UFC history. Nunes has run through every foe UFC has thrown at her — Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, and Holly Holm to name a few.
Heck, Nunes has beaten De Randamie once already, back in 2013 via TKO in the first round. She'll make it twice come UFC 245 in another early stoppage. Nunes is the G.O.A.T. after all.
