Included is our betting analysis and free picks to make ahead of bell time. Read this before making any UFC 250 wagers!
With UFC 250 inching closer and closer, we preview the UFC betting odds currently available. No matter the online sportsbook, you'll see some consistencies with the current lines:
- Featherweight champion Amanda Nunes is the overwhelming favorite to retain her championship in the main event
- In the semi-main event, Cody Garbrandt is a very slim favorite to gut out a victory
- Aljamain Sterling and Cody Sandhagen is a virtual toss-up fight
Before we give you our free betting analysis and picks to make, we wanted to remind bettors to NOT leave free money on the table. Many online bookmakers are offering welcome bonuses that pay out hundreds to thousands of dollars to new players. That, coupled with our UFC 250 picks below, could mean a big day for you!
Is UFC Women's Division G.O.A.T. Nunes Even Beatable?
Nunes' resume is impeccable — 19-4 record, the reigning UFC featherweight and bantamweight champion, number-one pound-for-pound women's fighter today (and likely of all time). That's why she's the overwhelming favorite in this featherweight title defense, however, just how tilted the odds are in her favor is staggering.
Spencer's track record is certainly less convincing, but shouldn't be overlooked, either. Three years the junior of Nunes, Spencer has accumulated an 8-1 mark with her lone loss being to Cris Cyborg by decision. In that loss, Spencer took heavy damage from Cyborg but showed her iron jaw in the process. She'll need that jaw again going against Nunes, who has won 13 times by KO over her career.
Honestly, we don't need to spend any time vouching for Nunes. She should handily win, but at the above prices — what's the point in picking her outright?
You're better off betting the exact finish of the title bout — knockout, submission, or decision? While Nunes has proven capable of winning by all three methods, TKO is still her specialty. She'll pound Spencer into oblivion eventually.
Betting pick: Nunes via TKO
Losing Streak Has To End In The Semi-Main Event
The semi-main event pits a pair of bantamweights against one another, with each badly needing a win. Former division champion Cody Garbrandt is the odds-on favorite, but just slightly.
Garbrandt's career has taken a sharp turn for the worse ever since winning the UFC bantamweight championship from Dominick Cruz back in 2016. Since then, he's lost three straight, all by devastating knockout in the first or second round. Garbrandt is on the verge of turning 28 — what should be the prime of his career — but this feels like a must-win fight to resurrect his once-promising career.
Assuncao is equally cold but for different reasons. Only months for turning 38, he's in the twilight of an otherwise bright career. While 27-7 all-time, he's suffered back-to-back losses heading into this.
What's doomed Garbrandt in the past is letting his emotions take over mid-fight (e.g. chasing a knockout win) then leaving himself vulnerable for a big shot that seals his fate. Assuncao can counter-punch with the best of them, but with only four KO victories over his career, he's far from a power hitter. Can he make Garbrandt pay if he repeats one of those costly mistakes?
We don't think so. Our money is on Garbrandt to prevail and get his career back on track.
Betting pick: Garbrandt by decision
Coin Flight Fight Between Sterling And Sandhagen
If the betting lines below were judges scorecard, this fight would end in a draw. It's seriously a toss-up!
With Henry Cejudo calling it quits, the winner of this fight is in prime position for the vacant UFC bantamweight championship. Sandhagen (12-1) has won seven consecutive fights, last beating the aforementioned Assuncao. Meanwhile, Sterling is on a four-fight win streak of his own and coming off a victory over Pedro Munhoz.
This is an early contender for Fight of the Night. In the end, we like Sterling's chances ever so slightly more. He's the superior grappler and we see him using those long limbs of his to outpoint Sandhagen.
Betting pick: Sterling by decision
Neil Magny (-145) vs. Anthony Rocco Martin (+125)
Aside from the main event, the UFC 250 main card is stacked with even-even matchups. Here's another one at welterweight.
While he doesn't get the credit he serves, Magny is an all-timer in this division. He has 15 wins in it, which ranks third in UFC history — behind only Georges St-Pierre (19) and Matt Brown (16). Come fight night, we expect him to tie Brown on that list.
Betting pick: Magny by decision
